Strawberry Season in Denmark: Kildebronde farm

It’s that magical time of year in Denmark again—strawberry season! If you’ve never experienced Plukselv med jordbær (pick-your-own strawberries), then it’s time to grab a basket and head to the fields. Here’s why strawberry picking should be on your to-do list this summer:

  1. It’s Perfect for Families
Whether you’re flying solo, with friends, or bringing along the kiddos, strawberry picking is a delightful pastime. Kids, in particular, love it—they’re practically in strawberry heaven! Plus, it’s an excellent way to teach them that strawberries don’t just magically appear on supermarket shelves.
  2. Budget-Friendly Berries
At just 30 kr/kg, it’s way cheaper than supermarket strawberries. And let’s be honest—freshly picked berries always taste better.
  3. Customize Your Basket
Only pick the biggest, reddest, and sweetest strawberries that catch your eye. No pale, underwhelming strawberries here—just perfection!
  4. Unlimited Snacking
The unspoken rule of strawberry picking? Sampling! You might find more strawberries making their way to your mouth than to your basket, but hey, that’s part of the charm.

The farm I visited was in Greve, and it was an absolute delight. They even have cherries coming in a couple of weeks! If you’re ready to get picking, here’s the link to their website.

Don’t worry if Greve is too far—there are plenty of pick-your-own strawberry farms around Copenhagen. Check out www.plukselvfrugt.dk to find one near you.

So, grab your sunhat, some comfy shoes, and a big appetite. The strawberry fields are waiting! 🍓
